小弟想買以下Mirco 鏡, 作微距(拍玩具)和人像(replace Nikon 50mm, F1.8) 之用, 唔知大家有何看法:

想快0的知道點可以影靚0的。

不過 Marco 手震好嚴重，如果有錢就買 105 VR 啦。

$2,500 60mm 2.8 玩得過架。

影人仲未試，不過見到好多師兄都係影得普普通通。影花之類就超正。

影人都係 50 1.8 呢0的靚0的。

Agree, 話晒支鏡在近3年都跟了我去了好多次旅行..

The micro 60 is very nice, if you get to hold one, u can instantly tell the difference in build quality, it focuses fast and also very smooth when you use Manual focus which is quite often when you shooting at extreme close range.

The lens is sharp, maybe too sharp for portrait, but we always can soften it up when retouching the photo.


note: the lens extend its length when focus closely, relative aperature will become smaller when not at infinity. so it is not f2.8 all the way. I remember it becomes around f/4 when focus to 1:1..

so you can keep your 50mm 1.8 for low light condition.

係啊，所以你應該賣枝 50mm F1.8，入 50mm F1.4 又或者 85mm F1.4/ F1.8。

呵呵呵。我年尾入枝 20mm F2.8 之後就買 50mm F1.4 架啦。

I would choose Micro 105 VR for more usage. I can use it for girls, flowers, bugs, and from a good distance.

85 1.4 is nicely build, but it is heavy, I tried it with my D70 and did not feel too balanced, I suppose this can improve if used with a bigger body.

Use this for low light shooting. otherwise@1.4 the depth of field is too shallow to even cover half the face. That is why I sold my Contax 85mm F1.4, I figured I will be stopping down to 2.8 or 5.6 to get full face I really
did not need the speed of f 1.4, when I use it, slight move of camera can throw me out of focus.

the lens looks good for showing off though.

if shooting portrait is the call, you can also consider the 85mm F1.8, it is just as good as the 1.4 only 2/3 ev slower.

Thanks for barryspc's advice. Currently I have 17-55/f2.8 and considering to buy a lens to take pictures of my daughter.

Since you already have a very good lens, beside 105 micro

I strongly recommend 85mm 1.8

also can consider 105mm F2 DC. these two lens gives you better speed to catch child's move

of cuz, if budget is not a concern, the 70-200 2.8 VR is all you really need for portrait

Please advise
1. For 105mm F2 DC, what does DC mean? It fits DSLR?
2. For 85mm, is it no need to go for f1.4? Too large aperture will result in too shallow depth of view?
3. Some Nikon lens is not made in Japan. Is it really matter?
I agree with you that 70-200 VR is my ultimate goal.

1. DC- Defocus control, that allows you to control your how hard your off focus background look like, and can also give you a soft-focus effect like when you use a soft filter. This DC also have a 135mm f/2 version.

2. really depends on your usage, use 1.4 in low light condition. if you are going to shoot during the day, or indoor, not a lot of time you will be using 1.4. from time to time you will stop down to 2 to smaller, than there really isn't a big difference in quality.
if you like a special effect where only one eye of the face is in focus, than for sure go for the 1.4, otherwise, the 1.4 is merely a status. slight move of subject or your hand can also make you off focus. I tried with my COntax 85mm 1.4.

from my experience, 85mm lens still need a pretty fast safety shutter speed, 1/125 for me. unlike the af 28mm 1.4 used with FILM camera, I cannot use it handheld a deem light.

3. Currently I have 3 AF lens made in China and Thailand. my 50mm 1.4, 18-70 DX, 55-200 VR, I don't find them to have any problem optically. They all feel like plastic anyway. I agree if feels better to know they are made in Japan, but reality is they seems to be okay.
