Some photographer advised me to purchase Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS. Although its 焦距實用 and 有防手震, but the color of the photos I see from this lense are often not sharp.

The photos from the stupid kit lense I am using right now just always come out yellow. Right now, I am just looking for a lense that can give sharp color photos and possibly with anti-shake feature as well. Any suggestions please?

For Sigma or Tamron, the shorter range lens (e.g. 18-50mm) are quite sharp. Colour is okay too. Price is reasonable. For longer range like 18-200, review said they are quite soft at the long end.


To me, kit lens is quite okay. Very light in weight.

I am not 100% sure, but yellowish pics maybe because you took pics under direct sunlight or because of the indoor light. maybe other c hings could share their experience with us.

this is a techincal of how to controll white balance by yourseft

not only set auto white balance is enough

you have to try test and learn more about the enviroment light seting between white balance controll

How exactly can you check whether if it is the white balance problem? I think my white balance works, because I do see some difference after adjusting it, but the quality is still not up to my expectation.

Therefore, I suspect it is the kit lense problem and now wanted to change to a better quality lense.

Direct sunlight will give yellowish colour. Maybe you can show us some pic. Then we may be able to comment.

I just don't think buying a better quality lens can correct your yellow problem. it is more to the setting of the camera and the photographer.

I am not sure right now if it is my camera's problem or if it is my incorrect settings with the white balance.

But as I mentioned before, I think my white balance does work, because I do see some difference after adjusting it, but the yellowish color just doesn't really go away, especially with indoor photos, even when I had put the setting to either "tungsten light" or "white fluorescent light".

And when I tried using the flash to get rid of the yellowish color, the whole photo comes too blue.

Try using flash WB when using flash. that will correct the blue problem

use Tungsten indoor with light source from yellowish lights.

use flourescent light WB for white tube environment.

now they cannot 100% correct every situation, and that will stay the same even if you change to a different lens.

other way you can get a better results is to custom set your WB and tell your camera what white is like in different environment. then you can have better result, see my other post about wedding pics.
