actually i am leaning towards 24-70 cause i already have 70-200 F4 IS and I wanted 2.8....eventhough its expensive at hkd9000+ but photozone suggest 24-105 and 17-55 IS are better lenses, is that true? If 17-55 IS can be use by FF i would have bought it already......

買 定焦 ... 吾係 "話 買 就買" ....
定焦鏡 係 要睇 成日影乜 就買 個一 枝....
吾係 就 買到 成 箱 "無謂野"
40d .... apsc sensor.... 重要 x1.6
24mm = 24x1.6 = 38.4 mm .... 買返來 影 乜...?
真係 要 影 wide angle 都要 睇 影 幾 wide
有 d 人35mm (135機) 就夠用.
有 d 人 20 mm (135 機) 佢 都 話吾夠 wide.

定焦 nice but really not too flexible, I have the 50 1.8II and honestly i love this lense how can something some low in price produce such nice result......I have the sigma 17-70 also another wonderful lense , great range sharp pic and amusing for the price....the more i use it the more i love it too.
anyhow my next has to be a L lense so that it can be use by FF for future upgrade......
but needed more comment on both lenses......

oh forgot to mention the 17-40L but the range is quite narrow.......yet heard many good things about this lense too

如果你一心要買FF，基本上17-40 f/4L, 24-70 f/2.8L 都係走唔甩(一般咁用)
視乎你影乜野多。加一支100 macro，或者一支tele，又或者一支魚眼
17-40 用在40D可當成standard zoom，上FF就係ultra wide zoom，係唔錯既選擇。
100mm macro 用在40D可影微距，亦可當定焦影人，上FF都係一樣冇晒野
魚眼就唔好買住，上FF先至有好效果。
Tele有budget買左無妨。

no matter u use 1.6X or FF,
17-40F4L is one of the lens you must buy... and in fact this is the first lens I bought for my 20D... It's so versatile... for landscape, protrait...... very good lens...
Prime lens... good ... but not flexible..... i have the 50 1.4 only for portrait...
tele... um.. i also got the 70-200 F2.8L.... fast focus, wide aperture, good for sport, portrait.....
yet, the next lens i am going to buy is the 24-70 F2.8L though expensive... but it is really a ver good lens, better than the 24-105 F4L....
what do u think?

canon .... both full frame & apsc 都合既....
16-35mm f2.8 L 就係 好 野 ($11,000)
17-40 F4 L ..... $5,300 .... 都算 物有 所值.
(不過吾係 F2.8... 你又 吾 鐘意)
