I think the most difficult issues the problem is on the optical side and the sensor, even Sony just released the full size sensor recently.

I think you are wrong it just like PC the price is dropping really fast and ditigal camera body once was very expensive around 8-10 years ago, and it is Canon to make it so 'cheap' from 300D in 2003 that below HK$ 10,000. and only 6M pixel.

In just 2006 when they introduced 400D it is less than HK$ 8000 kit set and you will see what is the new price for 450D in late March or early April 08.

For 5D, in 2005 its price is HK$25000 and now its around 15000-16000.
