I am using OLYMPUS CAMEDIA μ[mju:] 300 Digital (not 400). As the only difference between 300 and 400 Digital is number of peixl (300 is 3.2 M while 400 is 4.1 M peixl ), I think my user experience may help you....

"Hand-feel" of Olympus μ[mju:] 300 is very good. Easy to use. Photo quality is excellent (better than V3) after some comparsions. As its battery capacity is 1090 mA, the battery can operate for long time.

[400] & [300] have the same function and only difference is in the piexl. (The manual is the same for the both model). I just brought [mju:] 300 on last Sunday and I will tell you later when I try it in detail. At that moment, I found it was good and easy to handle than F401.

I have buy X1 (C50Zoom little brother) I think it qite similar to μ[mju:] 400 .
The picture is excellent and easy to use. Battery life long.
