Thank you Felix for sharing your experience, this is a question that I also ponder myself. At the moment I am still waiting for the 5D MkII, but used to have a 30D and still keep a 10-22mm. Of course, when the FF camera comes out, I will sell the 10-22 and are thinking of which wide-angle to buy. I already have another 24-105 F4 L IS and a 70-200 F4 L IS. My conclusion is that I will most likely buy a 17-40 F4L and use the money saved on not buying the 16-35 on buying the ultimate: 50 f1.2L LOL

Thanks for your sharing. From your pics, 17-40 is of better value. It is half the price of 16-35.

fish30兄，其實我在買5D前都考慮過等5D2，不過見到當時5D只是賣萬4左右，結果都忍唔著買了，因為就算有第二代，它的功能又可多了什麼...
除塵？我部400D都有這功能，但我發覺唔係好除得。14bit？又唔覺同12bit有太大分別(可能我唔多專業)，其他如對焦、像數、live view，對我來說又不太有用。最期望第二代會防水防塵。
所以正如兩位師兄所說，夠用！又能滿足到自己便算了。最總要是你覺得花那筆錢是否合理。省回來的錢用來買其他鏡玩下仲好。

I quite agree with your logic. Even if 5DmkII comes out in the near future, its price, I think, will be much higher than the price of 5D. It might be, say, $18k to $20k. Then, what happens? Wait for another half or whole year for the price to drop? Don't forget - one has to wait for a few months or a whole year before MKII comes along....
