yes, the increasing surface area of the cloud will reflect more sun light and so Earth get less heat

but at the same time the heat received will more likely to be trapped as well
as the radiation reflect from the ground/surface will also be reflected back to the earth from the bottom of the cloud...

聽講會在十數年內發生, 由於兩極冰川溶解會引致全球海岸線上升十數呎, 到時九龍會無左油尖旺, 香港會唔見左西環至中環, 所以買樓要買上山頂

I read that the crucial point of melting of ice cap is not the rising of sea level (its important too, of course)

but the result that the sea is "less salt" because the fresh water melt from the ice cap, esp in north pole, will cut the "Mexican heat transfer system" under water that operate via the dense salt water, and this will break down the weather system on Earth...

Yes, Maxi, you are right.

However, I just wonder, meteorologists can't even get relatively simple things right, like calling the right typhoon signals, red rain, etc, how do you expect them to predict complicated scenerios such as melting North Pole ice will affect ocean currents?

In the States, there ae still many scientists who believe global warming is just a by-product of sun-spot cycle that happens every 7,000 years. Therefore, in the context of time, what we are witnessing in the last 30 years has no bearing whatsoever on human activities causing global warming.
