and yes, why don't you go back to canon and ask? no need to worry too much wor. if its faulty, its obviously not your fault, canon should fix it at their expense gar bor.

I want to get 10D too, but after i read your problem, i dont think i will get 10D, let us know how Canon fix up your problem or not. if not i think people read this Forum will not get 10D any more.

Andy, I agree with and fully support you. Let me test with the above method to see if my 10D get the same problem, and then fight with Canon for renewal or a quick fix-up!

其實 CANON SLR 機的失焦問題, 早在 1v 及 30/33 時已存在, 特別是 30/33, 如各位覺得上 CANON 可解決問題, 則恐怕難圓其夢, 因這很可能是設計上的問題, 其實如用點單對焦, 問題應該不太的

Um ... haven't owned Canon AF SLR with more than one focus sensors before. Recalling my memory with my experience with Minolta 7000i, its one of the first AF camera provide multi AF sensor, and exactly as titanfkc hing said, if I use the wide AF mode which use all sensors and let the camera choose, I will get from time to time a miss-focus as the camera choose a point other than where I want to focus. I also suggest you may like to try the single sensor setting. Thats what I do with my Coolpix 5000, the 5 points coverage is so wide that, if I let it choose for me, there is a very high chance it choose a wrong one for me.

My 10D also has the focusing problem, either back focus or front focus!

for focusing problem, you can send back to canon for servicing. they can fix it easily.

regarding picture quality, it's a subjective factor. but i strongly recommend you 10D new users to try to shoot with RAW format and learn some digital darkroom technique (i.e. Photoshop). I am sure you will love your camera more if you have discovered the beauty of RAW.

I did go the the repair center for fixing but they could not fix it and replaced a new one for me.

However, I tested the new one in the repair center and found that there was still focusing problem. The service technician insisted that there was no focusing problem and argued with me. At last, he tested by himself and admitted the new one was not working properly. Frankly, I was annoyed and disapointed on Canon quality control and customer services. Eventually, the Canon people promised to give me another 10D for replacement next week. Let me wait and see how Canon resolve the problem.

My advice to all 10D owners, please test your equipment throughoutly on the AF systems. Too many 10Ds have the focusing problems!

Hello.. i have tested my 10D according to the method given above. I found there are somehow focus fault, but in my opinion not really too big deal. I will post the result tomorrow for your reference and discussion. But of coures, if it can be completely fixed then it is the greatest!!!
