2. I want to print out photo in 12R, what DC is better.

What is your budget? Anyway, I think you must buy one with assist bulb. Otherwise, it is problem in dim situtation.

One thing to remind you is never use the camera with flash for the new born baby because it is not good for their eyes.
Wait until they are at least three month old. Thus, take photos for them without flash (even indoor) until they are three month old.

The second requirement by you is 12R photo which required a camera that has around 5 million resolution.

As the result, Olympus 5050 may be a good choice for you which is also user friendly. Search in this forum and you may have more information about the olympus 5050.

5050 is big for me. I'm only want to take photo no need extra manual mode.

5050 start up time and save time is fast?

Congratulation! Leoccy. There was lucky for us that the DC was born before my son. He is over 3yr now. And I’d taken over 12,000 shots for him. There is right that speed is the basic requirement for the photos taking for the baby the snap shot. But I have some other ideas for your consideration.

You may take some photos from the unusual views. Such as put the DC on the floor or on top of your baby. – Movable LCD display is required. (Canon G3; Nikon coolpix-4500,5700 or else)

You any also need a hot shoe for the external flash. It could turn the flash to the ceiling to avoid the direct flash to the baby. And you may also get the natural look of light source. (G3; Coolpix 500 or 5700 & Olympus C5050 of else)

A lighter aperture DC may be more suitable for the newborn baby. Because the too much flash is not suitable for the baby (especially the new born) (G3 or C5050)

I don’t’ recommend Fuji 602, even though it have a lot of the above functions. It’s only a 3Mb DC.

Yes ! To develop a 12R photo, I think you have to buy a 5 megapixels DC ! If you want a small DC, then I also think that Canon S50 or Minolta F300 is a good choice ! I know that C5050, S602 or F717, these professional DC can take better photos but still their sizes are quite large ! So my personal opinion is Canon S50 !
