From the review, it compare IXUS II, Pentax Optio-S and casio EX-Z3 ! Casio have the highest marks while IXUS II get the lowest mark ! Unless you want a ultra small DC, otherwise for sure IXUS 400 is better !

but IXUS 400 hv bigger CCD
better outlook design (i think)
and use cheaper saving media.

ixus II 新d, 不過得300萬像素; ixus400 新出得耐d, 不過有400萬.....

What do you mean by 用耐d, 無咁易out? If you only need to develop 3R or 4R photos, then I can tell you that 3 megapixels or 4 megapixels DC dont' have much difference ! I think you should care about your budget first !

Agree with gapman, I think it is not much meaningful to consider the DC "will it be out easily", just consider the functions you want, the outlook you like, and budget you can afford is OK. How many new DCs every year? I think it is impossible to catch up with the so called most "updated" DC all the time!! (Personal opinion only!!)

功能上, 400好似好d, 有3x zoom, II 得2x ,
不過我想問2x 同3x 有幾大分別??

Yesterday my friend told me that in "Teaching Organisation" (Organisation open for teachers and let you buy electric appliances), Canon V3 sell for only $23xx ! (Hong). As IXUS 400 sell for $3600 and IXUS II sell for $2900, I think it's better to save money to buy V3 ! The difference for 2x and 3x, really depends on what you need ! For me, it's not much difference !

One of the important change is the memory card. the saving speed of SD card is faster than CF card. then the reaction time of IXUS II is faster and you don't need to wait for the DC to save picture. Certainly, the SD card is more expensive la.
