With 望遠鏡 we can see a lot more interesting scene.
With 12x the FZ1 give use a lot more photo opportunities.

Less people using/talking about it is because it is only a 2 mega pixel camera and people think 2mp quality is too low for them.
In my humble opion 2mp is good enough for daily photo and web contest use.

It is a real fun camera when you go back to 3x optical zoom you'll know it.

yes, i an eyeing the FZ1 as well, after i have played with it a bit from my friend's place.

its a very cool kid i must say, exactly as dominic hing said, this camera make a lot of impossible possible. imagine the SLR equivlent could easily cost you more than 10 times in terms of $, and will really need a car's back truck to allow traveling around.

yes, its really the 2M pixel hold me back, i would not hesitate to buy one if a 4M / 5M pixel revison is available.

I am another happer user of FZ1.

It's 12X lens, its speed, and its good form factor make it a very good everyday camera. I have used Canon A40, G2, G3, Nikon 990, Sony Mavica at work, and none of these are as quick as the FZ1.

My boss has all the expensive film cameras, 35 mm, medium and large formats. While his photos are abosultely amazing, he used to say the most joyous moment is the fun factor with ability to capture the shot. And that is the drive that keeps him carrying his camera bags (over 20 kg with all the long lenses) to his photo expeditions all over the world.

It is sad that a lot of people only judge a camera's worth by its megapixel, losing focus on the importance of lens quality and the real purpose of taking pictures - fun. If everyone realizes this, however, I may need to pay $4000 instead of $3000 for it ;-).

"流水效果" is simple achieved by exposing longer time.
Setting to night mode with a Polorizer and/or Neutrao Density filter would do the job. You need a tripod and 2 seconds timer at that slow shutter speed

In night mode the FZ1 would select smaller/smallest aperture eg. F6.5, F8 with possible slowest shutter speed.

Elmo,

I downloaded the picture from the panasonic web site and print out an A4 size picture. To my surprise, it turned out to be very well with almost no noise. I guess it must be its Venus engine withe the ability to process the signal diagonally insetad of vertically and horizontally. I'll say its picture quality is about equal to a 3MP camera. You can go to the www.panasonic.ca to find out details of this Venus engine.

After I had bought mine, I also printed out a 8R portrait from the photo shop and it was noise free. Kudo to the venus engine and the Leica lens. Go find out from megapixel.com or see more pictures from Dominic Tam's beautiful collections.

As for indoor picture, its flash is weak, just like most digicams anyway. You will do OK if your subjects are within 3 m from the camera. You want to take lots of indoor pictures, get a V1 or G3 and stick a big professional external flash to it, at much $$$ more and lot heavier stuff ;-)
