本人想買二手SLR, 請問以下那部好.

1) EOS 5 QD
2) EOS 100
3) EOS 500

另外, EOS 5 和 EOS 30 , 邊部好D呢?
EOS 5 + Vertical battery = $2200 抵唔抵呢?

not 高手 la, but since i am also doing same hunt as you, would like to share what i know lor.

EOS 5 is kind of the highest model in your list. it feature the same silent motor as the latest 30. its AF mechanism is also the best among the rest and start working at EV0 - 18, vs. the less appealing EV1 for 30. It also feature the first eye control with 3 selectable AF point, which in my opinion much less usable as the EOS 30. The big plus for EOS 5, is the built-in IR pattern AF assist lamp which allow it to lock focus unobstructively even at complete darkness. VS. the new EOS 30 using a freq. blinking of its built-in fill flash for AF assist. However, I was told the command dial (don't know which one) of the EOS 5 is v. prone to wear and is quite a common problem for this particular model, sorry about I just read this off photo.net's forum, but I don't have any further details on it.

according to my another hard-core EOS friend, he told me his first hand experience, EOS 5's AF speed on high spec USM tele is a lot faster than using the same lens on lower models, i.e. his own EOS 50.

So my suggestion is EOS 5 seems to be the best buy if you can find a really clean used unit. The reason for why i am in the market to search for another EOS body is because i am not as lucky and i have bought a not very clean used EOS RT, as a result i would like to give you this little word of warning.

EOS 30 is a value choice, but i have found its viewfinder a little too dim and the build quality isn't really upto something i am expecting. so for me, if I am eventually not able to get my RT fixed, i think i will sold all my EOS gear or painfully pay more to get a model 3, for its high precious AF sensor which is as good as 1v (only except for extremely fast AF tracking).

I definitely won't recommend the even older model 100 or 1000 or 500.

he..he... don't say so, i can't let my boss and my wife know i am browsing the internet days and nights....

so i suggest friends with tighter budget to start with brand new entry level body for peace of mind, and start collecting better lens. Then when both your skill set and wallet grown up, get more feature-packed and reliable body and the 'lesser' body can still be used as 2nd camera or backup camera lor.

though one of the big plus of SLR is interchangable lens, but i have never found its any fun at all to change lense on site (except it looks PRO), but i would really rather have 2 bodies, one with long lens attached and the other with short lens attached lor.
