If budget is HK$1000, you can check the following Benro at 鴨記

550EX tripod + KB0A ball head (~HK$700) or
500EX tripod + KB0A ball head

550EX & 500EX had same height but 550EX has 4 segments and shorter retracted length. 500EX is 3 segment model so that has longer retracted length. Of course, 500EX has higher stability.

The next one you can consider is 650EX / 600EX + KB1A ball head. 650/600 is taller than 550/500. 650EX and 600EX is 4 segments and 3 segments respectively. They are a bit higher price but still <HK$1000.

I use 550EX (shorter length) in oversea travelling and 600EX (stronger) to shoot fireworks. Some airport like Japan will really check your hand carry lugage size. 550EX+KB0A is just smaller than their 700mm limit.

Of course, if you had US$1000, pls go for GITZO as other ching recommend.

1. The heaviest weight is ball head but not tripod. The higher payload, the heavier of ball head. That means the difference of those aluminium tripod 500/550/600/650 against graphite tripod may not as large as you expect becasue ball head dominate the whole weight. Moreoever, the lighter tripod, the less stability. You should judge the weigth vs stability.

I suggest you at least to buy KB0A. It provide balance of weight and tightness/payload. Don't consider lighter/cheaper series BH-X. KB1A is more heavy, more big but more stable.

2. Pls go 鴨記螢記 or other shop to "feel" the tripod height and weight. Then you can consider whether you can take it over a day of shooting.

I only provide advice of Benro but no experience of other band. GITZO is still in my dream.

$300的腳,好極都係雞腳黎喎-.-你用咩機&鏡呀??腳架我覺得貴少少都要買隻好d & 穩定的,7-8百已大把選擇。好的腳架真係可以用10年以上的,唔洗咁慳丫。
