I got budget around 10000-15000
I hv been using LX3 for couple of months.
I wanna purchase DSLR.
I was thinking should I purchase entry class or middle class DSLR.
Plan A: purchase a water goods 7D or second hand 5D MK1 plus 1 len?
Plan B: get a 500D n purchase 2 lens
Plan C: D90 plus 2 Lens

which one would be better? or could u gimme suggestion...
no idea canon or nikon....as I dun hv any lens right now

玩dslr除左body & 鏡之外,多多少少都要預d budget買d 野,腳架,filter,防潮箱,外閃...等等,加加埋埋都3幾千架。所以我會recommand你 plan b or c but買1鏡先,再慢慢睇自己喜好添置新鏡。

All plans look good. However, what matthewwong ching like to do in photography? portrait? landscapes? sport? snapshot on everything you interest? They will be the factors for you to choose your gears.

For portrait & sport many other ching said Canon is better. I personally like Nikon's colors.

Given your budget of $15k, I am sure you will over spend if you go for 7D.

I am seriously considering it myself as an addition to what I have so I don't need to carry my full size gear with me all the time. The best camera is the one that’s with you.

why matthewwong ching wants to upgrade from LX3 to DSLR in just couple of months?

get a second hand 5D or 500D Kit set then learn how to shot first, there is pointless to goto 7D if you not familiar with DSLR (unless you will join some toturial about photo shooting)

think the direction like getting a "OK" body and have a "EXECLLENT" Lens

if 5D is too expensive for you, try to get a second 40D (not 50D i think since there is not much improve) and buy a 24-105L lens and 580EX

it still under 15K budget

絕對同意買2手機練習, 40D會係好選擇, 而且係全金屬機身, 非入門機咁膠可比, 大概4千鬆. 如擔心唔識check機, 有些2手40D仲有保養.
所餘budget 買支好靚既鏡方為上計策(都係建議2手有保)

7D 當然係好啦, 但你budget有限, 而且入門初學的話可能係唔知自己要咩, 所以很多時用過才發現自己有什麼要求, 那有何必一開始就投資太多去功能多但用唔著既機身呢. 而40D/50D 已經算中高級啦.
投資靚鏡就不同了. 24-105L 二手買賣區大約 $6000-$7000
