As I am a beginner, these questions may be silly. But, please help.

1. What is the use of VR for the D90 kit lens as the range is form 18 to 105 mm ? From my basic knowledge safe shutter speed is 1/f. f\For the kit len is 1/18 s to 1/105s. VR should be used forthe large zoom such as 200mm. The VR can make the safety speed from 1/200 reduced to 1/50 to allow more light to go to the senor.

2. For the high ISO to 3200, it is even better than the sensitivity of a human eye. The photo taken at ISO 3200 will be even brighter than the actual environment. Then do we need the external flash anymore ?

3.`If I use a lens 50mm 1.4F ans at ISO 800, do I need flash for taking indoor photo ?

Although you may be able too shoot a photo with correct exposure with high ISO in dark environment, the effect is not the same when you use a flash, since the light source & angle changes.

So use flash or not is a choice. For example, I will sacrifice picture quality to use higher ISO but not flash if I take snap shots.
