canon FD mount distance 42 mm (nearly the shortest)

Even if mounted a FD lens on a NIKON body, u can't focus to infinity unless the mount converter has a glass element, but that would degrade the quality very much.

the following are ok without the glass element in the adapter
Nikon lens on Canon EOS body
M42 lens on Canon EOS body

the following is not ok for focusing infinity if no glass element in the adapter
M42 lens on Nikon body

nearly all lenses can be mounted on micro 4/3
