filter爆o左而令頭組鏡片花o既機會好細!通常都係事後處理過程中整花o既機會大d!
如你枝鏡o係tele o既話,影響應該係近乎零! 有保險就最好啦! 如果無....o果塊鏡片都一定唔會平!

I've asked similar quesiton
For Nikon AIS 50, the rear lens require HKD 1,000 to replace
For Nikon AFS 17-35 f/2.8, the rear lens require around HKD 3,000 to replace it

I seldom make the front lens scar, but for Nikon plug-in lens process, you can easy get scar of above two lens.

fwan67, i don't know they worth that much nowadays! really! i remember i'd replaced the rear element of my ais 20mm f2.8 for a couple of times! it was only around $400 something hkd!. and they gave nps menber a discount! so, end up i just needed to pay around $300 hkd each time! what a difference!

oh... really not cheap but lucky it's covered by the insurance.

would there any problem after they've changed the front lens?
will they check the whole lens?
how's the Nikon CS? Nice & helpful?

I have the same experience before with my 18-135mm.

I dropped it and broke the front glass and Nikon CS helped me repair it at $900, though it may be not be worthy to do so. I claimed it with the insurance company.

After repairing it, a 6-month warranty will be given. (not sure if Water Goods will be the same).

Nikon CS at Tai Koo - really nice people and chatty female staff members. :p

I brought it to Nikon CS today and the staff are very nice.

They will replace the front glass and clean the lens for my 70-300mm VR. To my surprise, it costs just HKD550.

I wish I can get back the perfect lens soon !
