18-200mm VR is good, but not as good as your kit lens at 18-55mm. However, it is very convenient to use with its long zoom range. No need to change lens. Overall, I think it is a good lens.

Tokina lenses are usually quite okay. I don't know about Tokina 16-50mm. But the kit lens 18-55mm VR is already very good at only $900.

Flash is not a must if you are not shooting portrait very often.
If you do so, i would suggest you to buy a Nikon SB400 or Nissin Di622.
They are both around $1000 and enough for general use.
The former one is more compact but the latter one is more powerful.

And for the standard zoom, i chose Tamron A16(17-50mm F/2.8) to replace my 18-55VR since i love bigger aperture than VR. But i would like to remind you that the Nikon 18-55VR focuses faster than A16 or Tokina 16-50mm a lot.
