It has a new optical design and abit bigger than those previous ones, doesnt use 52mm filters anymore, but 58mm ones.

which one do u prefer, Sigma 50mm f/1.4 or Nikon 50mm f/1.4

Seems that Sigma may better than Nikon as 77mm using. However, Nikon one is still 58mm. So far no one see the image from Nikon 50mm f/1.4 G. :(

yes, agree, 50 f1.4D is more worthy and fit widely to bodies. also it is standard len, IF or not, not too different in speed, same aperture, why pay more? somebody using it in DX bodies as a cheaper portriat lens with f:1.4, but if you fit it in full frame body, it's a real standard len at all, if you already got the wide zoom & tele-zoom, somebody feel the existed value of standard len became less in the past film age, the big supporting it's value was price to aperture ratio is excellent! but not, almost double price of the new IF standard len.... think about it.

heard HKD 4000 dec 2008 - OK LA with NANO real great for FX digital la.
