was having a hard time deciding between 18-200 or 70-300... thanks to all the previous topics here in this forum, I decided to go for quality other than convenience, plus a longer range as well.

Looked at the 買賣區 for days... it's either around $3700 for no warranty, or $4000 for lens still under warranty. Shopped around today, got it in Mong Kok CITIxxLL for $4300 cash, and $250 for a Nikon NC 67mm... Was thinking this in my mind, why not pay just a few hundred more for a new lens.

Anyway, I am happy with my new toy, and can't wait for my next day off to test it out!

我也想要這lens, 但想買二手. 不過唔明白點解D人二手賣到差不多新價一樣,有時還貴過二手店... $4280都夠膽死! Fact is, demand = supply... 二手價好講有無人去支持, 無人比到成$4000去買, 就唔會有敢gei天價出現. 就算打個八折, 這lens的二手價都應該只是三千五左右. 當然無人強迫我去買... 只講出我個人感受. 引起冒犯的話, 抱歉...

Totally agree with you. As I mentioned, this is my main reason getting a new lens. Just a few more hundred dollars to save all the risk and hassle. Now adays, u can get a second hand 18-200 VR for less than $4000 while a new one cost $5280; this is what I call reasonable. Really can't be bothered in this case, for the 70-300!

$4980????? I got mine on the 28th for $4300 just two days ago! Price increased 15.8% in two days? Quotes I got was between $4300 - 4600, but 70% of the stores I asked quoted $4380, and I got mine for $4300. No way it could be $4980!!!

beeboy: If your lens selling is in mint condition, I agree that $3500 is totally reasonable.

darwinw: If you are looking for a second hand, I suggest you to consider "beeboy"s lens.
