各位Ching 如果只考慮用係DX機only, (不計range實用性及將來上唔上FF), 邊支PQ好D, 邊支色水好D, 邊支利D ?

I think 24-70 will be better in terms of PQ since it's newer.

But the difference should be very small.

DX should use 17-55 instead of 24-70.

24-70, good lens and preserve value. if not because of JPY rising, 17-55 price keep dropping than those old lens like 17-35 f/2.8 or 14 f/2.8

fwan 67, do you know why? Because they are G lenses.

But I really don't get the rationale lor, the 2 lenses are totally of different ranges and one cannot just use picture quality alone to be the benchmark.

I am using both lens
17-55 f/2.8 on D80 and 24-70 f/2.8

Both lens do a very good job on producing high quality image.

But 24-70 is just a little better as it has a better coating on the optic. Nikkor call that Nano coating and it is very effective on controlling on the flare.

oh ... forgot to mention about the sharpness. I think 24-70 is a little bit sharper than 17-55.

But I am using 24-70 on the D700 so the body may contribute to the difference as well.

70 in FF = 70

17 x 1.5 = FF 25.5
24 in FF = 24

Sharpness & Overall performance almost same

But Price...............

各位Ching 係FF 24-70 mm 邊一個range最常用?

因本人己有 24mm/ F2.8, 35mm/F1.8, 50mm/F1.8 及 85mm/F1.8prime 各一,
是否 17-55mm / F2.8 or 24-70mm / F2.8 , 足巳替代(PQ, 發色及銳利)?

Seriously, the whole range of the lens is usuable.

I understand where is your question coming from as some of the standard zoom on the market, some range is not usuable due to the lack of sharpness or distortion.

But on the 24-70 f/2.8, Nikkor successfully make it happened and the whole range got a really good photo quality

17-55 la.

Lighter and smaller are the value of DX. PQ is super, very sharp lens. A lot of good 2nd hand just below $8k. 24-75 are above $12k. Use this $4k for travelling, relaxe and take picture.
