My new D700 has battery drain problem, I only take around 300 shots in 3 days and the battery gone completely empty. It turns out the camera is draining the battery during stand by mode. Any brother has similar experience? I have brought the camera to Nikon CS, not sure if this can be fixed.

"stand by mode" , meaning what...?

1. Leaving the camera on all the time while u were shooting..? or

2. Leaving the camera on the whole day, whole night for 3 days?

Depending on how long the camera is in stand-by mode each day during the 3 days shooting period .... if it has been on for 6 to 8 hours EACH day, 3 days 300 photos .... thats not bad.

已前d200曾經出現相同事件,我拿回去cs,等了幾天,幫我換了一粒新.不妨去試下,我另一朋友就不成功.要買新.

its orignal battery, and I it works perfectly in my D90. by the way, when I said stand by mode, I mean I switched off the camera.....
I dont think its a battery problem as I have already try several battery, both Nikon and third party battery, the power drain problem still exist...

Also If I use live view function for about 2 mins, the battery gone down for 5%...

300張...如果開af,vr,PRE-VIEW D700都是影到400-500張,師兄試下charge 滿後在相機電池manual內看下,是否full?

there are post in other forum saying that D700 can take up to 800-1200 shots in one charge, even my D90 can do 800 shot under one charge. So not sure if I am just lucky enough to get a bad sample of D700.

我用手動對焦,連pre-view都關才影到1100張,師兄都好勁影到1200張.

How about battery drain problem? Even when I switch off the D700, its losing about 5% -10% battery per day... any one has similar experience?

I don't have problem with my D700. I am shooting around 600 photos per working days. And one battery can usually last me 2.5 to 3 days shooting.

So I think you should try to have a quick check up on the body.

It obviously is the problem of the camera itself. My D700 can hold the battery capacity in high battery level even I have not use it more than month.
