If you use D lenses or old Nikon AF lenses, you will not be able to use the live view if you have selected "aperture" setting in your camera. You must change to "sub-command dial" setting in your camera first, and then turn the aperture ring to minimum aperture before you can use the live view.

However, if you use Nikon manual focus lenses, you can use the live view even if you have selected "aperture" setting in your camera.
