What is your purpose of using flash?

SB600 is a very decent good flash. Unless you need the super power of a higher output. Otherwise it should be serving you pretty good.

What camera you are using? If you are not using D3 series, and if your camera has a build-in flash, SB600 can do wireless flash as well.

Please keep in mind that lots of people in HK are upgrading their equipment just for the sake of upgrading ... If you try to ask them why are they upgrading their equipment, you will be surprised to find out most of them couldn't justify themself.

Of course, if budget allow, I will suggest SB900, as you always wanna get the best equipment that you can afford and you don't have to pay extra for upgrade in longer term.

SB900 can justified the $$ difference with SB800 or SB600. SB900 can survive all professional need.

亦有很多新手唔夠3個月就後悔買了貴燈. 用三千多元買燈, 實則只用了千多元功能.

網上太多一步到位的發言, 只區區一句話, 缺乏客觀性.


奉勸樓主多了解何謂閃光燈, 將來的用途及使用率等, 便容易有結論.

Totally agree with LIWAIHANG Bro.

I believe you really have to understand WHY you need the flash.

If you know the reason behind, and then you can really understand the difference between SB600 & SB900.

they are both great flash, but serving two different purpose.

我買黎想幫我女朋友影相~有時補下光咁

if you are using that for 補下光, or just taking photos for girl friend, SB600 is more than enough to survive your need.

as the iTTL is very accurate on SB600. Also you are able to use wireless flash with that as well.

Of course SB900 is a better choice if money allowed. But you really have to consider if you need the extra power and functions of the SB900.

A good piece of equipment is the one that you can fully use it's functionality.
