For that price, u get a motor and slightly sharper image wide open
but the built quality is not as good as the 1.4D IMO, and the bokeh of the old one is already astonishing, i dont think the new one will outperform it in this respect....
so do u think it is worthy?

so i just upgraded from 1.8D to 1.4D when nikon released the new lens, and im amazed by the quality of 1.4D, what a legend!!

85.4D starts to show stock shortage. Believe Nikon already stopped providing goods to the shops.

yes, i think nikon will discontinue the 1.4D, so i recommend people to buy it right now if u really want it, or u pay for the new one and regret.

i bought it on ebay and then they shipped a brand new 1.4D to me, i live in Australia, so thats the cheapest way to get it
In HK, u can check out DCfever or 永成, their pricing is quite reasonable

"expensive" is relative, when compared with the 85.4D which you can pay $7xxx where quality is not so much different.
