I plan to buy before CNY this combination:

D80 body + D90 18-105mm lens (the kit set lens)
Total price $7,000.-
(included two battery, 1 8g SD card, tripot, bag, etc)

Because I found the D90 lens better in terms of picture quality & color & focus. But I am not ready to pay a premium of like $3,000 for the movie + liveview function of D90.

Then $7000 is more within my budget as a first time buyer of DSLR.

What do you brothers think? Is it a good choice?
or any suggestions?

I usually use it for picturing babies & family photos.

Do I need to buy the Flash also? Any suggestions with price?

P.S. I also looked at Canon 450D but found D80 is of better picture quality.

D80 is not water goods. I seen it in Wanchai.

It's because the sales told me if I want the pictures look good then prosumer is not the right product.

I think I understand a bit the ISO use, which is one of the reason to buy DSLR vs DC.

根本是要買D90..

因為好多人近半年來買了D80不夠三個月的人,
都極快放了二手, 基本是心理問題.
買了D80回家, 總覺同D90比較是差了些什麼...

不過最終視乎樓主budget
同埋樓主願唔願意用水貨(d80 body)
而家我都真係無見過d80的行貨body了，我亦都係因為咁而由d80改投d90既懷抱

D80 got built-in flash already, save your budget until you really need one.

For babies, not recommended to use flash anyways. DSLR has an advantage as it has higher ISO with better quality, and faster focusing to catch baby movements.
