My friend bought a D200 (water goods) from Tin Cheung last Sat.
I saw a total of 5 units on the shelf.
The first one tested was not good, the second one was OK.
Price was $12900, with no free gift.
My friend also bought a 18-70 lens (D70S Kit Lens - hong goods) at $2050 for the D200.
After using it for few days, he said that the camera was good, without any banding problem even when taking shots against strong light.
During our 1-hour stay there, Tin Cheung sold 3 units already.
So I think this camera is OK, and am realy impressed by the large LCD mon against my D70.

thanks for the comment and experience...the kit lens is a bit high wor...i think a new one at X shing is around 2k or below je wor...

as for D200, water good selling $12,900 is quite high...but the good thing is, no banding problem...so worth it la...otherwise ask friends to buy from Japan could be 1k cheaper i think.

so did you buy too?

also what is D200's serial number of your friend's?

hope they really fixed the banding problems...

You R right, it s about 1k cheaper in Japan.

It's nice we can share some shopping experience, I did my shopping over the internet, and find out that Hong prices are the cheapest in Japan, plus the fact that Japanese would only sell the best products in their domestic market.

D200 body: JPY198,000 * 6.600 * 90% = HK$11,761
18-200 VR: JPY88,000 * 6.600 * 90% = HK$5,239
MB-D200: JPY16,800 * 6.600 * 90% = HK$998

All Hong good with warranty, lens with international warranty

However, I have waited about 3 weeks for delivery from Yodobashi.

No banding problems as others have mentioned.
