Whenever there is hot item in the market such as Nikon 18-200 VR, some stores always want to boost up the price. 2-3 weeks ago, when there was no stock in town (18-200VR), those stores who have it (like wing shing and citicall) asked for $6900-7100 and they even said you better buy it now otherwises the price will go up even more. Stores like Fortress and Broadway will tell you the price is $6400 or $6380, but you have to order and wait.

其實支鏡質素唔係好好，但係就非常方便，可以一鏡走天涯，方便旅行，非常適合老人和唔多識影相女士，因為有防手震功能。所以先會甘好賣，但係就唔多適合影相發燒友，因為質素麻麻，所以好多買左都要放二手，尤於缺貨，放二手可能會有錢賺，$5千幾買，$6千幾賣，幾好呀！

以其質素, 分段買 2支質高的重化算, 袋多支都唔係好煩。

In my humble opinion, this is not 商業行為 and certainly not 供求關係。 This is called APPALLING DISTRIBUTION MANAGEMENT.

Can we think of any other BRAND names that allow their Authorised Dealers to hoard goods and sell at extraordinary mark-up? Is this lens the only one commodity in this planet that has outrageous demand??

I wrote an email to Nikon and raise a compliant. In short, I told that air tickets on particular routes are always in critical demand in certain months, but none of the airlines handles SUPPLY & DEMAND the "Nikon way". Similary, if the honorable NIKON executives who needs to fly to attend AGM but was given this "Nikon" service by their favourite airline, what would they think about the airline???

I wonder if beeboy really has this lens, The image quality of 18-200VR is excellent instead of suboptimal. Please check kenrockwell.com and bythom.com, I have both Nikon 18-200VR and 17-55 f2.8, using a D200 the image quality is comparable, it really worth the price, and at this moment, your can't buy one new(no matter Hong or Water)below $6500 on the market.
