Surely choose 70-400 4L is the best choice la.... you won't feel regret if it comes with IS but buget is another issue.

If you buy one of the mentioned, believe sooner and later finally you want to upgrade to 'L' lens.......... as the color generated and resolution out does all lens above... it's one of the best value among those Zoom L lens also the sharpness of the resolution rank quite high except probably 70-200 2.8L can beat it at the same range............

唔該師兄,但係我去check價, 75-300 IS USM 多少少買到 70-200 F4L USM同75-300 IS USM 用micro USM 唔係ring USM 尼, Canon EF 100-300mm f4.5-5.6 USM 係唯一一支唔係 L 但又有ring USM. 尼支鏡 image quality 好唔好?

Canon 100-300 has no IS. It will be a problem at this range unless you use tripod.

70-200 L is a very good lens but also no IS. But if your hand shakes, you can only get very good coloured but blurred pictures.

This is the reason why I bought 70-300mm IS myself. I am happy with it.

Thank you C hing, I would like to ask, dose the front of the lens rotate when focusing on your 75-300 IS USM, becasue that would be a problem if I want to use CPL filter and star filter etc.

That was the reason why I looked at the canon 100-300 USM becasue it has a ring USM instead of a micro USM which is slower and more noisy when focusing, and i heard that the 75-300 IS USM hunts alot near the 300mm end like the 70-300 USM, also 100-300 USM has rear focusing so no lens rotation at front when focusing, even thou it is an old lens, I heard lots of good comments from lots of users, the other is the price for the 100-300mm USM is good around 2.2k HKD, i would like o have it along with the 70-200 F4L USM because of the extended range and i can use it if i wanted a lighter lens and in rougher conditions.

Also dose the image sharpness deteriate after 230mm+ on your 75-300 IS USM becasue that is what i heard from lots of people who have used it..
