hi all,

i got a three question about shooting indoor with 20D and 550EX flash.

Setting Information
---------------------------
Mode : P
W/B : AWB
Focus : AF, Centre point
Flash : On and point to the ceiling

1. is my current setting suitable for indoor?

2. can i change the Aperture in P-Mode?

3. any tip and trick for indoor shooting with external flash?

可能情況有千千萬萬﹐好難講係唔係一定就係適合室內用。
打 bounce 係有效果﹐不過要睇你同主體、你同　bounce　面距離﹐仲有　bounce 面顏色同質料。
而 bounce o既角度同燈頭 zoom 幾多﹐你試多o的就會掌握到。
室內時機用 m mode 好過 p﹐例如係暗少少o既地方﹐p mode 會 lock 快門係 1/60﹐可能引致背景 under。

how about attach a white card on the flash? so that the color can be controlled and the result more predictable?!

for the m-mode, what apeture and shutter speed for white card bouncing? i using 4.0 and 1/60... for shooting foto with 3-4 people and some people face are blur (except the one on the focus point)

Bounce + 白卡 都好﹐有多o的正面光。
光圈同快門又點可以就咁係度講呢﹖因為無人知現場環境係點o架。
只可以話大概係因景深決定卷圈﹐再用快門就。
你可以用相機個測光錶做參考。

hi micros and folks,

just bought a new 580ex and return the 550ex to my friend.

i tried the following setting with 20D and 580ex when taking photo during dinner with friends in chineses restaurant.

the 580ex alway in ETTL mode without high speed sync......

P-Mode ceiling bounce with white card

i cant adjust the apecture which i can when 580ex is not attached... do you know why?

A-Mode ceiling bounce with white card

the shutter speed is much slower than P-Mode with the same ISO, W/B, specture and composition.

for example,
P-Mode : 1/60s, F4.0, ISO200, AWB
A-Mode : 1/8s, F4.0, ISO200, AWB

any thing go wrong with my setting?

i cant adjust everything but the exposure meter always tell my is it under.
should i simply ignore it?

p mode 係lock 死快門﹐唔會曝足現場光﹐而a mode 曝足現場光。
室內﹐用 m mode﹐絕對唔好用 p mode。
有時用 p mode 唔單只會 lock 快門﹐仲會無啦啦收光圈﹐表現好反覆﹐信唔過。

用 m mode 應該可以 set 光圈同快門喎﹐個 meter 話 under 你可以 set 慢o的快門或者大入o的光圈。

你用 digital 呀﹐可以自己試下唔同 setting 睇下。

例如光圈定係 f/5.6﹐快門就由 1/125s 逐級加長到﹐同時睇下個 meter o既指標﹐你就會明係咩一回事。
