沙龍相我就唔知點影呀, 但係濛濛地又夠光 o既相可以加 Soften Filter (唔係講 PS Filter) 影.

Salon was a place (living room) for people to paint. It was borrowed to photography to show their artistic value.

Previously, some famous Hong Kong photographers won prizes in Salon by their painting like photography (e.g. using slides sandwich technique). It made you think that 沙龍相等如濛濛地. Well, it's easier to produce painting like photos under Photoshop.

In my humble opinion, photography has its own place other than painting. 濛濛地 does not necessarily mean arts. And I agree with micros that 好多沙龍相都被形式所困.

叫得做 "沙龍相" .... 梗有"某種"形式.
即係 "journalism", "glamour", travel" ...etc photography 一樣.

不過 "沙龍相" 既 "創意" 空間大好多.
所以出現好多 吾同 WAYS of presentations.

吾好 "自己想去坏一邊".... 自己困自己.

Honestly, I sometimes get trapped with equipments, techniques, etc...

On the subject of "MongMong Day".... there are a couple of combinations:
1. subject + background (both MMD)
2. subject (clear) ; background (MMD)
3. subject (MMD) ; background (clear)
4. subject + background (both clear)

which is ART and which one is NOT art?

濛濛地 does not necessarily mean arts -- that's what I wrote. It is not a mere factor to determine if it is art. Am I wrong?

"MongMongDay" in photography does NOT mean the "MongMongDay" coming out of the mouth of an ordinary person.

"MongMongDay" in photography could be used to show :
"movement" , "imagination", "fantasy" , "sublime freakiness", "romance", .... etc etc etc

.... and it takes great photographic/darkroom/post processing skills to create "MongMongDay".
