The situation is: Person face is dark, but background is bright, how can I take a photo on both subjects clearly? (more or less like a 背光相)

1. Tried using flash, but that just made the person clearer and the background became too white

2. Tried increasing EV, but same thing happens like using flash

3. Lower shutter speed- again, background extremely white and also problem with hand shake

4. High ISO- face was still dark

Please advise~

Your flash output is too weak.

Have you tried using reflector?

If the flash is stronger, doesn't that make the background even more white?

The longer the distance, the weaker the flash.

There is no strong flash that can make the background more white than the front object when it is mounted on your camera.

I think you should read some books or articles about flash photography.

1. use ND filter
2. use flash (if 1 is not enough, buy one more)

Don't use built-in flash as it's too weak. Use an external flash which is much stronger. If possible, use remote flash at about 45* (angle) to your friend to avoid direct flash which gives harsh light on your friend's face. To get better effect, use reflector as well. The problem U have is the difference in brightness from the bright background to your friend's dark face is too much (or, photographers like to call it "exposure value" which is different too much). So, U should use background for metering but add about +0.5 EV to make it a bit brighter; meanwhile use flash + reflector to brighten your friend's face. If not +0.5 EV, the flash effect on your friend's face would look so "fake". Try it!

一開閃燈背景就爆會唔會係你用?大光圈,快門被限制在最高速同步呀?
我建議你唔好用光圈先決開大光圈,反而用快門先決設定在最高速同步,你可能會發現光圈要開到好細的.
光圈細閃燈火力自然要求高,外閃是免不了的.
你如果一定要做淺景深,可以好似janki咁講加減光鏡或者用外閃的高速同步功能,不過咁會進一步減弱閃燈火力.主體距離不可以太遠,甚至要好近.
