Most is outdoor

tripod, shutter cable, stepladder
lighting depending on location n weather

your flashgun it seem not enough if the weather ........

main to consider:
control the shape of a group
find a high viewpoint such as an upstairs window, if not, use the ladder
deeper DOF such as f8 or higher
ask everyone: their facs a bit upward

try iso 400, 60-125/sec, f8 or 11

flashgun.. I brought the 580EX II already la.

But another big problem was found out.

Long table (12~16 people) taking photo.. in dark restaurant.

Focus....point & Exposure, ISO 400 & F7.1 with 580EX II

For fornt... Exposure over

For rear.. Exposure under

Ceiling tile is mat dark brown.
