Going to oversea to see Sunrise and sunset, really want to get some tips from experience c hing, thanks for sharing! =)

Long exposure?

Never use long exposure, the sun "running" very fast during rise & set.

Try to use a tripod to fix the camera, but not essential.
Set around ISO 200 to avoid too slow in shutter speed, the others is your own choice. Enjoy & try!

日出,日落前後 可供拍攝的理想時間大約只有 20 分鐘, 所以到達時要先找幾個拍攝位置
日出前後 天空變化很快, 可能很有色彩, 氣氛,
煙霧在剛有日光照到時最是精彩
多走位, 選不同前景 和 構圖 多拍攝

日落後1 小時(magic hour) 不要放過, 拍出的的效果會比人眼看見的來得更靚

因天地光差很大, 若要地上的顏色和細節 要採上述a.b.c.方法.
一般用三腳架, 連拍3張RAW +2ev 和 –2ev (包圍曝光) 是最常用有效方法.

若不熟悉後制, 可交做相師傅取代勞

以下 2 張沒有用filter, 天空正確曝光, 在lightroom/photoshop 推光 暗位, 以致暗位細緻不理想

and about long exposure

- it s not always u need or not for any situation, it about wht u want on ur composition.
- but long expose can catch the clouds movement and make seacoast soft. but u need tripod.

Dear markin07,

To shot the photo of sunrise and sunset, it is important to wait for the lighting in low contrast because this is benefit for the exposure. 3 minutes on "AND" before is the best time for shooting.

Secondly, I have stated my experience of black card exposure as stated in my profile. This is an interested technique for exposure.

Also, very important to shot the photo with correct composition too. I prefer rule of third. This will be discussed later.

although this reply might be a bit late, try using "cloudy" white balance and you will be amazed!
