其實諗左呢個問題好耐. 以前少 editor 讀到 raw, 就話用 tiff 代替. 依家 raw editor 都咁 common, 其實點解仲有個 tiff mode? 歷史問題? 定係 tiff 真係有佢比 raw 優勝之處? 會用 tiff 的師兄/姐, 可唔可以幫我解答我的疑惑. Thx.

RAW檔祇是記錄原始數據，而且廠家各施各法，沒有統一標準。

TIFF是一個有統一標準的圖檔格式，她支援多種壓縮方法，包括無損壓縮。而且，她還可支援分頁模式，即一檔多頁圖片。

呢個明呀. 但係, 實際上, e.g. 你用 Canon 個 raw, 我用 nikon 個 raw (nef), 冇關係架. 我影完, 自己開姐, 除非你話個 canon 友影左幅 tif, send 比我去執 ... 不過都冇問題架, 我都可以 download plug-in 去開.

具體少少, 依家有冇人用 tif, 如果有, 點解用 tef, 唔用 raw?

我冇用tiff，但相信依然有少數人用。可能是歷史遺留下來的問題，亦可能是她可一檔多頁，方便出版。

Tif 屬於不失真壓縮圖檔，不管怎麼壓縮，圖檔的品質都能保持原來的水準.而且是屬於跨平台（PC & MAC）的格式，支援ＣＭＹＫ印刷色，故常用於印刷輸。
Raw檔不是統一標準，一般被用於記錄12bit或14bit的原始數據(如數碼相機)，因此通常不能直接使用/编辑/打印或直接顯示。 = )

其實一般調光暗白平衡等當然是在raw調校比較好,
一來檔案size細,二可以作很大的修改而又不大破壞相的質素.
但好多時照片還要經大量的後期,
而需要在ps之類的軟件再處理.
而tiff可以作16bit儲存.
這對後期處理有很大的幫助.
因16bit可保留較多的數據.
執相對照片的破壞可以減少很多.

I think the question is more like JPEG vs TIFF instead of Raw vs TIFF since most, if not all, cameras can only produce either Raw and/or JPEG but not TIFF directly. During pro-processing some may convert Raw/JPEG to TIFF for many good reasons such as lossless compression etc. Whether to use JPEG or TIFF will depend on your work flow and needs. In my opinion if you start with Raw, there is not much incentive to deal with TIFF since the TIFF image can always been regenerated from the Raw image if needed.

My current work flow is shooting in Raw and do my non-destructive Raw processing in Lightroom. If I do need to do pixel level editing (which I don't do often), I will then convert to PSD and make the editing in Photoshop Elements. And when I need to post my pictures on web or need to print, I will then let Lightroom to convert them to JPEG in the background for me. This way I don't need to deal with JPEG that much and only convert them from Raw if needed.

How about Raw format compatibility among vendors? I would go with DNG if needed but I don't have a need yet so I will just wait and see.

RAW係一堆Data，冇統一格式，除左影像數據外，仲會有埋影果時相機WB，Contrast等等，但間間廠o既數值都唔同。就算係Canon，50D同D個Profile都已經唔同，所以如果用Lightroom執RAW時，將50D個Profile套落去7D D相度，顏色會比較黃。

仲有RAW同TIF o既用途係唔同，RAW係Data，TIF已經係Info，經處理過。
