淺既景深 Post time: 9 月 28 日 |

Hello,
Sorry I can't type chinese........please help.......
I'd bought a Casio QV4000 last year. I though it could give me a 淺既景深, but it could not, so I sold it yesterday.
I'd tried Minolta Z1 today, it has X10 zoom but only f2.8. I could just about get 淺景深 but I had to stand so far away from the object and zoom in ( or I stand near it, zoom in but only can get part of the body) also the " f "reading automaticly reduce to f3.5 too, even in a manual mode.
Is that normal? Is there any other good DC which I get but to fulfil my requirement? budget is $4000 max

Dear Tim,
It is tough to get 淺景深 by using digital camera. Generally speaking, big aperature or if you stand from object far away (eg. F1.4 - F1.8) is good to produce 淺景深. However, the size of CMOS/CCD is very small in DC (eg. 2/3", 1/1.8"), so generally speaking you can only get 淺景深 in Macro Mode for most of the DC.
In order to solve the above problem, you have to get a SLR or D-SLR.

I think the main problems are that your lense doesn't have micro mode, and the focal length of your lense is too short (both of these are the feature of general DC).
As a general guide, you may try to shoot as close as possible to your object (of course within the min. distance focus range of your lense) to create the effect of 'thin' depth of field to the maximum level.
Besides, if your cameral doesn't have the function of manual or aperture priority setting, you may consider to select the SPORT mode explosure program setting (if available) or similar kiind of setting so that the auto explosure function will shoot at hight shutter speed but wide aperture value and thus 'thin' dept of field efffect is created. OK ?
