Would like to enquire how to better manage the resolution versus size of photos once taken

If HQ had been selected in taking photos, the image resolution by pixels would have been too large for being posted into Internet webpage for view. If they are subsequently resized to smaller ones by per cent, they will look compressed in view. How to manage them so that they will not look contracted and compressed?

Do I not need to select HQ in taking pictures, which are to be posted on Internet webpages for view? Use lower reolution by pixels?

Please tell.

I am not quite sure about how small of a file you are looking for.

A pic taken at Fine mode at 1024x768 is around 100kb per piece. Is that still too big for you? The image quality is decent for internet view, I think.

Would try this 1024x768 reolution at fine quality.

If pictures are posted onto the Internet for view, space on the Intenet will always limit the file size. It is the space factor that determines the file size. Would be finding an optimal combination of image quality and image size so that the resultant image will look nicer when posted on the Internet album for view.

It depends on where you are posting the pics. If you are setting up a private album online, then there are some websites that offer no storage limit. Take www.imagestation.com for example, it is absolutely free, and I have around 4Gb of pics on there already. I don't resize my pics when I upload, my pics are taken at 8 Mega pixels. But you'll need high connection speed for this.
