小弟最近買左部FILM SCANNER﹐ MINOLTA DIMAGE SCAN DUAL IV﹐ 但係SCAN完出黎既效果強差人意﹐總是覺得太SOFT。
由於這是小弟第一次自己SCAN相﹐所以實在不知問題出在哪裡。 是否部機有問題﹖定係我自己在操作時有問題﹖請指教。謝謝﹗

Firstly, you need to calibrate your monitor first (e.g. use adobe RGB - step by step). Secondly, check the scanning resolution, sharpness and the other setting. The enclosed software should some default setting for different film. Choose the correct setting that match your film's brand, type, ISO, serious or so.

Thanks for the feedback.
My only concern here is about the sharpness of the scan, so I guess we could leave the calibration of my monitor for another discussion for now.
As for the resolution, the problem remains even at 3200dpi (equivalent to 14 mega pixels), so resolution isn't what causing the problem.
My scanner only lets you select film type, I chose "color positive", I did not mess up in here either.

So, the problem still remains as a mystery. I am just suspecting a problem with focusing. Before I take my complain to Konica Minolta, I am just wondering if the result I get is considered "normal" (pics already posted). Am I simply expecting too much from my scanner? Could anybody out there who are using Konica Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV post some pics for comparison purpose?

Yes, you should ask the customer hotline about your question. But are you sure the photo image is sharp?

Yes, I am sure. Because I took that same film to Fotomax, and the prints I got are razor sharp (I used a 50mm prime lens). So I guess I will take these prints to Minolta along with my complaint, simply ask them why the scan isn't nearly as sharp as my print.
