Old DSLR is 12bit, new DSLR is 14bit
How is the EV difference between them ?

I mean the EV dynamic range, 14 bit should should be able to record brighter or dimmer signals compare to 12 bit, but how it related to EV?

但一定要RAW先有分別,JPG都係得8bit
一般電腦mon都係睇唔到14bit
晒相舖晒相都係得8bit

Jpeg only contains 8bit
But 12bit RAW or 14bit RAW photos can retrieve back the data when it is underexposed or overexposed

eg. If a photo is underexposed, by using DPP, you can slide the EV bar to positive to obtain the detail. 14Bit should have more information than 12Bit photos in theory. But by how much the difference in terms of EV.

In a simple word, dynamic range concerns shallow & highlight (i.e. darkest & brightest) which you can shift by changing your camera's exposure value (i.e. +ve or -ve). Colour depth (bit) means the sensor can identify / distinguish how many different colour but you can't change.
