最近和朋友讨论拍人像的锐利度是不是需要设到很高。小弟用7D，我朋友用5DII
请问各位，拍人像你们的sharpness setting 是多少呢？

Canon 一般預設 都較柔，
所以我所有 人像、標準 及 風景設定，
都將銳利度一律 於預設上加多 2 格！

Recently DPP 3.9 added Unsharp Mask
You can tune the sharpness with threshold set

Previously, you can have sharp sharp eyes but the face would be ugly because of the sharpness
Now you can have sharp sharp eye and smooth smooth face
Good for 拍人像

I like sharpness very much too, but i have not tried to set it to "sharp到盡". Any Ching has this setting in sharpness?

With Unsharp Mask in DPP
you can sharp到盡 and set the threshold value to certain value to obtain smoothness on face

when you set the camera to sharpest, it is just a software working inside the camera....
with RAW taking, you do the adjustment in computer and you can adjust the setting to meet your need

Would it make a big difference if I take JPEG and RAW? I normally take JPEG pics. Thx.

If you only talk about sharpness of a photo, once you are very sure about the setting of sharpness, JPEG is fine. RAW is more easy for you to do post processing.
