 Should I buy the sigma 30mm f/1.4 Post time: 6 月 11 日 |

I already have the 24-70mm f/2.8 with me, should I buy the sigma 30mm f/1.4. I used to have the 50mm f/1.8, didn't like it on the crop body, have to walk far away to capture a little more in the picture. That's why I have been thinking about the 30mm. The canon 35mm f/2 is another choice too, but I think I like the 30mm with f/1.4 better. So should I go for it? And what is a fair price for a brand new one in the market.

Brand new Sigma 30mm F1.4 is HKD3,100 in Mongkok.
If you like it and have money to spend, go for it.

Sigma 30mm 1.4 是枝好鏡，用在APSC機上真的冇乜缺點，除了部份產品可能走焦要cal鏡，講真，HK$3,100.00絕對超值。
如果在可見的將來都不會上FF的話，該買。

You should not buy it
Otherwise you will not use the 2470 as frequent as before
The 30.4 is light in weight

agree to wllui.
unless u definitely need f /1.4 , you have a duplication of focal length.
me too, I got 24-70 and 50 f1.2, I still use more 24-70.
seems a bit of waste in the 50 1.2 though it is a good prime len!!
think carefully.
Prime len is beautiful, but I ask myself, day in day out, how big is the difference vs the inconvenience in using prime len.
changing lens is not quite fun to me.!

我就覺得canon35mmF2,好過sigma 30mmF1.4. 價錢又差不多，最少唔使cal。

我2枝錯都有....
總結sigma 30mm 1.4係好一點, 但比較重, 同二手價低.....
而canon 35mm 2.0果枝就色水總係冇SIGMA果枝咁好,(個人感覺JA),好處就係輕....同埋二手價高......我果時2300買.....放番出去2400蚊....仲要有幾條友PM我話買tim.....

Thx for the input guys! Maybe I should do some more thinking before I make my call then! What about 70-200mm f/4? Is the IS really needed? Coz the non IS one is like 4000 cheaper!

個人喜歡35mm,f/2.大光圈. 成像銳利, 又有淺景深效果...極爽
在室內微光線不足既地方，無需用閃燈，能保留現場氣氛.
基本上要搵好耐,好似永遠缺貨.
唔洗諗....強烈推介,一定冇後悔!

我果時枝35.2搵左好耐, 最後上網睇POST話中環屎單利街有貨.....最後係果度買左....不過係好耐的事了....
仲有就係呢枝鏡勁搞笑.....二手價係貴過原價的...t__t

The difference is not only the IS. The lens composition is totally different. According to sharpness, the IS version is much better. If you buy the non IS version, I'm pretty sure you will change to IS version very soon. Trust me.
