My DSLR doesn't have such function, but I will borrow my friends one to do it in friends wedding.

In my opinion
I won't treat it as DC or DV cam. DSLR video should be focus on beauty of the bokeh, not making every pixel to be sharp sharp sharp......
I don't zoom the lens during recording, but I will manually change the focal ring to obtain beautiful scene that DC can't give.

If you use the DSLR in a way as the DC or DV, that is holding it all around replying on the autofocus and zoom, that would be a disaster for DSLR. However, having the subject to be clarity and bluring the background, changing the focus from an object in front to an object at the back would be something the feeling that DC or DV couldn't give you.

Therefore, for whole process recording, choose DV or DC. For movie feel recording and artistic production, DSLR.

只可以講話係其他"民用"DV好難俾到... 高階o既dv 一樣可以做到好靚仔... =D
如果有用開手動鏡同電影鏡會知, 一般DSLR lens 對於拍片真係唔係咁好用...

is it true if you expose the DSLR sensor too long like during movie mode, the sensor will be exposed to long duration recording and heat will build up therefore leading to decrease in durability ?

第一次用5dII+L鏡拍片，download到電腦看時，真係清到有啲嚇親，跟以前用DV拍片根本無得比，識得玩其實好多嘢玩
