G series is a complete waste of money (the worst Canon series that should have been scrapped long ago).

E-P3, GX1 and NEX 5 are good cameras with slightly more budget and size.

Dont know about is there any demo can try in Hong Kong, I am in Canada but try the demo earlier. I think most of the Camera show these days can let you try the camera too. Most of the pics test at ISO 1600 and ISO 3200 indoor. So roughly can tell the performance of this camera. It's different than other DC or G12 at all so cannot compare with those cameras cause it is totally two different thing. But so far I feel reasonable price @$799CAD( Of course the cheaper is better ). The thing I really like it is no need to think about spending money on extra lens for a small camera since I have FF camera already. Second, it is smaller size campare with M4/3 with kit lens ( pancake lens not count ). Of course if you want outstanding picture quilaity, go for DSLR. Not just about the size of sensor , is about u can use better lens for better picture quilaitiy. But for snapshots or casual photoshooting, these camera did their job ! So I think this camera will have it's own market.

I will try this, even i have nex 5n, epl3 and x100. it seems most suitable for snapshot than others.

If the zoom range starts from 24mm, I definitely will get one to replace my DSLR. Do you remember the Canon Pro 1? I like the zoom range of it, it turned out a failure product though.

G1X has a bigger sensor, but X10 is f2 - f2.8.

Zoom range is the same.

X10 has panarama and is cheaper. Difficult to choose between the two!

actually x10 sensor is very small
when it is f2 the depth feel is only about g1x f4 or smaller
and if you see some sample from dpreview
x10 iso800 is the last accept iso higher than iso800 nosie is become very serious
g1x raw and controll are very user friendly

also x10 viewfinder is different with x100
it just a dc like of x10 no hyperbirde viewfinder
