Canon suspends 5D Mark III shipping
"Light leaks" investigation ongoing

Canon UK has said that shipping of the 5D Mark III has temporarily stopped while it investigates problems with the top LCD causing exposure issues.
The fault has been widely reported online, and appears to show the exposure value changing as a result of the top LCD plate light being activated when shooting in very dark conditions.
Canon UK has admitted the fault, and issued the following statement, "Canon has identified that when the LCD top light is switched on in very dark situations, the displayed exposure value may change on the EOS 5D Mark III.

Canon is now investigating the issue and will announce further details on the Canon support page in due course.
"Customer satisfaction remains Canon's top priority and we would like to apologise to our EOS 5D Mark III customers for any inconvenience cause," said the camera company in a statement.

Upgrade

The 5D Mark III was announced in March, as an upgrade to the extremely popular Mark II. It features a 22.3 million pixel sensor, and retails for around £3,000.
Canon has also experienced problems with its flagship model, the 1DX, causing its release date to be pushed back until June.
The spokesperson was unable to give an estimated date as to when investigations into the 5D Mark III issue would be completed and shipping would resume, stay tuned for more details as they emerge.

機頂LCD燈漏光最主要problem係影響機內測光, 導致影夜景採用既曝光值(光圈+快門+ISO)唔準

未聽過曝光本身受漏光影響

所以我話電筒照都未必好, 用smartphone apps可能最準

我都係以打工廠工既經驗估，收返瑕疵機換新機，乾手淨腳過俾CS遂部修理

看來C-Hing無看歷史了!! 當年雞能隻唔D, 反光鏡飛出事件, 在美脚就回收, 但香港脚只得拿到CS處修理!! 看來大細超事件又再次重演了!! 雞能好野!!

我又覺得驚回收貨re produce掟返出市場既師兄，太多疑

因為如果生產中QC唔合格既產品既下場，一定都係盡量回收有用資源再生產，在商言商，一定係咁do

而出得廠既貨，QC通過哂，你買得就要有信心

極端講，一部QC過哂只因漏光返廠整返既機，一部係生產過程中QC成日唔pass反覆係生產線執幾廿次先出到廠既機，你話邊部令人有信心d？問題係你唔知者，過得QC出得街你鬼知買中邊部！？正如你去超巿買橙，之前係貨倉撻過落地你又點知？你只會關心隻橙切開有冇爛，食落甜唔甜

身為港人我都知大家用成二萬幾買新機梗想部機perfect，但大家都要了解，perfect本身可以好表面，事實亦不存在，總之QC pass，買家用得開心，就係win-win situation。

完全同意,眼不見為乾淨, 好似買二手野咁,check妥無問題交收就算,唔好諗部机/鏡頭有冇跌過/整過,否則用得唔開心仲衰!
