我都有枝540EZ, 其實都可以用到, 不過只係manual mode。

If you use flash mainly in day time to give the "眼神光" of the model, the EX series is a MUST, e.g. even 430 EX can give you high speed sync + E-TTL which cannot be fulfilled by 540EZ.
(PS, I seldom use flash in night time, as I work only in daytime)

Flash's manual mode can adjust the output 1, 1/2, 1/4.... so daytime can use.
Flash's auto mode only fire at maximum output.
To be honest, use EX series la.
I tried 430EZ with 40D and (..too complicate, trial and error ...) finally get a EX flash.
