I use 40D and want to buy a lens for Concert use,

My suggestion:
a) “Canon” - EF 70-300mm f4.0-5.6 IS USM
b) “Tamron” - SP AF 70-200MM F/2.8 Di LD [IF] MACRO

Which one is better?
“IS” or “F2.8” ?
or other lens?

Remarks: no enough $ to buy “L” Lens

If have $4xxx buy “Canon” - EF 70-300mm f4.0-5.6 IS USM , I rather buy EF55-250IS, better optical quality AT A MUCH LOWER PRICE $16xx

If have $5xxx buy “Tamron” - SP AF 70-200MM F/2.8 Di LD [IF] MACRO
why not buy Sigma 180/3.5 macro for Concert? MUCH MUCH better optical quality!
