順便一問 小弟40d+18-55 is ,但好像影風景 沒有廣角的效果 請問廣角影便宜的有何選擇 真的要便宜 因小弟是學生

18-55 on 40D is equivalent to a 28mm lens with an diagonal angle of view of 75°, already wide enough for 風景

if u want ultra wide, EFS-10-22 is a very good choice

I have both EF-S 17-85 IS USM & 18-55 IS, sold 17-85 IS one year ago.

18-55IS is far better than 17-85IS, especially at wide

Recently I bought 18-55IS from my friend (who is quite "clever", bought 17-85 to replace the 18-55IS)

Recently I also bought nikon's 18-55VR 3.5-5.6G & use on D40X, which turns out to be more or less the same as the than Canon's 18-55IS

believe of not, both Nikon 18-55VR 3.5-5.6G & Canon 18-55IS are two pieces of cheap cheap lenses that produces excellent images

consider Tamron 17-50, F2.8 (A16), around $2600. Very sharp.
But no IS, USM

I also played 17-85 for 2 months and then not use, sold finally. The zoom range is good, the image quality is not as good as 17-40.

My preference is Canon 17-40 f/4.

17mm x 1.6 = 27mm, ok wide for landscape. If you take landscape most the time, I suggest 17-40.
However, a bit more difficult for portrait for using 17-40. Still ok as you already have 50 f/1.8 for portrait.

I think 24-105 is not wide enough for landscape, it's equivalent to 24x1.6 = 38mm. Moreover, I feel that the 24-105 f/4 is not wide enough , and not tele enough, and aperture not large enough, too....etc (sorry for 24-105 user). I use f/2.8 for mid range zoom lens, for porttrait.

In addition, if you want a even wider lens, how about Sigma 10-20 beside of EF-S 10-22 that Obi-Wan C-hing had said above.
