"Canon EF 100mm f2.8 Macro USM without 'IS', OK ma??" Extremely OK because for macro, u usually use a small aperture in order to increase the depth of field ON A TRIPOD or using FLASH, the IS is useless

you should not use AF in macro shot.

AF is OK in some moment. for me, fifty fifty.If you want to take butterfly / moving object, Sigma 180/3.5F (Cheapest 180) for sure, Otherwsie, EFS 60mm is ok
