That depends very much on what you are shooting, what budget do you have and what lenses do you have. In terms of image quality, there will be not much improvement. The best investment will still be lenses.

You can consider 50D if you want:
- high-speed shooting
- better "hand feeling"
- to use wheels for fast changing settings
- few millions resolution improvement
