本人用50D, 想買一支MARCO 鏡用來影花影虫, 唔知買100mm f2.8 好定60mm f2.8 好. 想問問其他師兄意見. ((相信短期內都不會轉 FF 的))

60mm for sure!
my friends have both and I have tested them seriously
60mm gives much sharper pictures. Trust me or try it yourself!

100mm is good for future use if you are planning to move to FF.
If you are going to stay ASP-C, then just get 60mm!

100mm let you to shoot objects which are farther away from you. (e.g. the bird on the tree)

But if you are taking pics with objects which are close to you (e.g. bugs, leaves...etc.) then you MUST use 60mm!

60mm is also good for shooting products (e.g. watches, toys..)

60 mm gives sharper image probably because it has a larger DOF then 100mm (my 100/2.8 usm macro is very very sharp, since I don't have 60mm to compare, may be 60mm reli sharper as uubb said)

I will try to post some pics later. 60mm is really sharper. I try to shoot a watch and I can even see the very tiny flaws of the metal. I am using the same camera, same setting, same lighting condition.

When you view the pictures in 100%, you can see the difference clearly.

But 100mm is also a great macro lens, especially if you plan to move to FF in the future.

影蟲焦距長D好,180mm都唔係多.100mm影人就長,影微距去到1:1時工作距離其實得四,五吋左右.好易嚇走一D會飛走既昆蟲.所以影蝴蝶熱門地方你唔多會見人用100mm鏡的.不過長焦距貴之餘會易手震,有利也有弊.

for flowers, 60/2.8 is sufficient for non-FF camera; but for insects, you may need to have 100/2.8 or 180/3.5

Obi-Wan ching 聽講sigma 鏡十支八支要cal... 係唔係呢個原因? 我都想去tin xxxxx 買呢支鏡... 不過暫時行程緊密... 應該要下半年先可以玩macro鏡... :p

sigma EX lenses, if fully calibrated, will be very very sharp. But it require some kind of luck. I have 7 sigma lenses, some does not focus well in 350D or 400D but ok when used in 50D or 40D. May be the problem is caused by a combination of the camera and lenses, not just Sigma's fault. That's why I only use 50D or 20D & give up 400D & 350D in the dry cabin
